Liz Slade is an educational consultant, teacher-trainer, mindfulness teacher, and nature meditation guide. Liz was a pioneer in the mindfulness in education movement and a classroom teacher for over 30 years. She has a deep belief that when we pause to nourish our own hearts, we are better able to care for each other, build inclusive communities, and protect our planet.
Spend some time in the garden to keep it healthy and beautiful. Volunteers will work together to clear debris and unwanted growth, freshen up plant beds, prepare the space for plantings, and improve pathways. Volunteers will learn how the farm grows and cares for the vegetables, herbs, and flowers that fill the beds each season.
No experience is needed. Volunteers should dress accordingly for outdoor work, bring gloves or favorite hand tools, and get ready to enjoy fresh air, teamwork, and make a tangible difference. Events are subject to change based on weather conditions.
The Mall Walking Club meets every Tuesdays and Fridays, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at The Westchester in White Plains. It’s a great way to exercise no matter what the weather is outside. Go at your own pace or get motivated by joining an inspiring group of people who’ve grown the program into a small community. Walk on either carpeted or tile flooring and maybe share a story or two.
To join, sign up at the Parks table, next to the horse fountain on retail level 2 (located between Crate & Barrel and Urban Outfitters) on Tuesday and Friday mornings during the program.
Admission and parking* are free for all registered members of the mall walk program.
*Registered Mall Walkers enjoy free parking from 8 a.m. – noon on Tuesdays and Fridays.
(Participants must check-in at the Parks table, or sign-up, if this is your first time at the Mallwalk, each time you attend for free parking.)

Come visit the farm and experience the joy of grooming our friendly horse, Haley! This hands-on program gives kids the opportunity to help care for Haley through brushing and grooming, which supports coat maintenance and encourages positive socialization. Pre-registration is required, and kindly note that this program has a firm age minimum of 12 years old.

Celebrate Mother’s Day at Muscoot Farm during its annual Sheep Shearing Day – a hands-on, educational event that highlights the shearing of the farm’s sheep and the journey from fleece to fiber!
Muscoot Farm is looking for friendly, helpful volunteers to assist with event setup, welcome guests, support the wool processing station, and guide families through fun fiber crafts. Volunteers will help demonstrate simple wool prep techniques (like skirting and carding), oversee activity tables, and ensure a smooth and engaging experience for all visitors. No experience is necessary – training is provided on the day of. Come dressed for the weather and wear comfortable shoes!
