Skulls of the Reservation
Learn about some of the local wildlife through this intro to mammal skull id lesson. All ages welcome. Meet at Trailside Nature Museum.
Yuletide at Hilltop Hanover Farm
Learn about the history and celebration of Yule and the importance that the Winter Solstice and agriculture plays in this inclusive celebration. Enjoy traditions new & old as you enjoy some snacks, activities, and craft a Yule log to take home.

Tea with the Animals
Join us for a mid-morning cuppa while you meet and learn about the animals on the farm! Participants will harvest and make some scrumptious treats for both us humans and the animals to enjoy together for a tea party! Adults and children 6+ welcome! Pre-registration is required with a $15 program fee.

We’ll look for these elusive big birds and discuss the natural history of one of Marshlands’ most popular residents!
Winter Wildflower Arrangements
Make a festive centerpiece for the holidays. Bring your own vase, and we’ll help you make a beautiful winter bouquet using dried plants and natural objects from the field and forest.
Holiday Lights on the Farm
Get into the holiday spirit and see the farm in a new light! Visit our animals inside of the decorated barns, participate in holiday themed activities, listen to music, enjoy delicious food from participating food trucks and more! Registration is required, $6/person, free for children 2 and under. Event is rain or shine. No refunds.
Plant Craft – Making Holiday Cards
Join us in the nature center to make holiday cards for friends and family. We’ll be using natural plant materials and traditional craft supplies.
Winter Tree ID
Trees have a special beauty in winter, when their leaves have dropped and you can observe their silhouettes clearly. However, identification can be more challenging. Join this walk to get familiar with bark and buds, plus learn about the natural histories of some of the species seen at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation. All ages welcome. Meet at Trailside Nature Museum.
