Join us to explore one of our lesser known yet incredibly important ecosystems – vernal pools! Stop by to learn about what species rely on these pools and what makes vernal pools so unique among wetland habitat types.
Did you know that you can make your own paper? We’ll be using native ecotype seeds from Hilltop’s Native Plants Program and recycled paper to create handmade seed paper you can take home and plant or turn into a greeting card! This workshop is open to all ages, but is recommended for 10+. Pre-registration is required.

Volunteers are needed to help park staff identify as many species as possible in the meadows at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation. No prior experience is necessary! Participants will learn how to use iNaturalist to take photos of insect, plant, and animal species they find and add them to a shared collection.
