The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) constructed the park’s visitor center in the 1930s and we are pleased to be re-opening the building to offer new services to our patrons. This program will feature short presentations on the CCC’s history at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation and the expedition by Nick Shoumatoff (‘He Who Stands Firm’) to learn from the Delaware Nation of Oklahoma, as well as his subsequent creation of the Delaware Resource Library, newly housed in the visitor center.
