SUMMARY:Senior Pool Party & Barbecue
DESCRIPTION:A pool party and barbecue are scheduled on Tuesday\, June 17 at Saxon Woods Pool in White Plains. Westchester’s senior citizens are invited to kick off the summer. Rain date is Wednesday\, June 18. \nSponsored by Westchester County Parks and the county’s Department of Senior Programs and Services\, the pool party is open to Westchester County residents age 60 and older. Seniors are welcome to bring their young grandchildren. \nSince the pool will not be officially open yet\, seniors and youngsters will have the pool for their exclusive use. Saxon Woods also features the “Andy’s Place” playground that is handicapped-accessible for children with special needs and is fun for kids of all ages. Mini golf rounds are free. \nFrom 11 a.m. to noon\, barbecued chicken\, tossed salad\, potato salad\, juice and dessert will be available. Entertainment will be provided by Mack and Soul\, along with a water aerobics class. \nParticipants are welcome to bring any additional non-alcoholic beverages. Seating at Saxon Woods Pool is limited; participants are encouraged to bring chairs for seating. \nAdmission and parking for the event are free; park passes are not required for this program. \nSuggested lunch contribution is $4 for seniors and children.
